Celadon Blue Silk Handmade Qipao

$498.00

This Celadon Blue (Tianqing) cheongsam is made from fine, smooth silk with a subtle jacquard floral pattern. The traditional stand collar and handcrafted floral horizontal knot buttons reflect the understated elegance of early 20th-century China.

Designed with a full-length front opening, modest double side slits, slightly wider waist, and a longer hems area—these are all signature features of the Republic of China era silhouette. The serene celadon-blue tone pairs effortlessly with the lustrous texture of silk, creating a look that is both refined and versatile for formal occasions or relaxed gatherings.

Key Features

- 100% silk with subtle jacquard floral pattern
- Celadon Blue (Tianqing) – a calm, sophisticated shade rooted in traditional Chinese aesthetics
- Classic stand collar with handmade floral horizontal knot buttons
- Mid-calf for an elegant, elongated silhouette
- Full-length front opening, modest double side slits, looser waist, and longer hem inspired by Republic of China era tailoring
- Traditional techniques blended with contemporary fit for comfort and versatility

Cultural Inspiration

The Tianqing hue, often compared to the soft blue-green of antique celadon porcelain, has been cherished in Chinese art and design for centuries as a symbol of serenity and refinement. This cheongsam draws inspiration from the Republican era (1912–1949), when East and West influences merged to create a new style of Chinese women’s dress. Its slightly wider waist, longer hem, and modest side slits reflect the understated elegance of that period, while the silk jacquard and handmade knot buttons preserve the artistry of traditional craftsmanship.

How to Style This Cheongsam

- Formal Evening Event
Pair this elegant qipao with nude or white high heels and a satin clutch. Add pearl or diamond stud earrings for a timeless look that fits cocktail receptions, gala dinners, or cultural events.
- Wedding Guest
The soft pastel hue makes it a graceful choice for weddings. Style it with white kitten heels, a delicate hairpin, and a pastel-toned handbag. Keep makeup fresh and luminous for a romantic vibe.
- Business or Professional Gathering
With its clean silhouette, this qipao works well in professional settings. Pair with closed-toe heels in a neutral shade and a structured handbag. Minimalist jewelry, like a thin bracelet or small pendant, keeps the look polished.
- Afternoon Tea or Garden Party
The subtle floral jacquard makes it perfect for daytime elegance. Combine it with Mary Janes, a small crossbody bag, and a light shawl. A soft hairstyle, like loose waves, enhances its femininity.
- Date Night or Evening Out
Elevate the romantic aura with pointed-toe heels in a contrasting color (deep red or emerald green). Add statement earrings and a chic clutch for a refined yet modern twist.

What Are Plackets & Necklines?

Plackets

placket is the opening on the front of a garment, usually used for buttons, knots, or zippers. Different placket designs create different visual effects.

Front-Opening

The placket sits at the center of the garment. It looks clean, symmetrical, and easy to style.

Diagonal Front Opening

The placket follows a slanted line from one side to the other. It adds a decorative, more distinctively East-Asian look.

Necklines

neckline shapes the upper contour of a garment and strongly influences the overall style.

Round Neck

Soft and minimal, easy to layer with different inner tops.

Mandarin Collar

Upright and structured, giving a clean, refined appearance with a subtle Asian-inspired touch.

Measuring Guide

Accurate bust, waist, and hip measurements form the critical foundation for proper size analysis. These dimensions must be meticulously taken using our official guidelines to ensure absolute precision.

How to Measure Your Body for Custom Sizing

1. Preparation
Wear only undergarments (bra and underwear). Have a soft measuring tape ready, and ask a friend or family member to assist for accurate measurements. Please measure in centimeters.

2. Measuring Technique
Let the tape rest gently against your skin—do not pull tight, and do not add extra allowance.

3. Key Measurement Points

Body height: Measure barefoot from vertex to heel in standing position.

- Bust: Pass the measuring tape through the bust point (BP), wrapping horizontally around the fullest part of the chest.

- Waist: Locate your natural waistline and measure its circumference (the narrowest part of the torso, typically near elbow level when arms hang naturally at your sides).

- Hips: Measure horizontally around the fullest part of the hips.

- Back Shoulder Width:Locate the shoulder width between acromion points, measuring with the tape passing over the back neck center point (BNP). The measuring tape will naturally curve slightly - do not force it straight.
