Susie Lo Cheongsam was born from memory, distance, and reunion.
In 2012, while studying abroad in the UK, our founder Susie found herself longing for home—for her grandmother, and for the cheongsams her grandmother once made by hand. Some of Susie’s earliest memories are of quiet afternoons spent watching her grandmother stitch patiently, one thread at a time, sometimes embroidering a small flower they both loved: the Alstroemeria, a symbol of elegance, restraint, and joyful reunion.
When Susie returned home, the tools had changed, but the craft had not. Standing beside her grandmother once again, surrounded by freshly made cheongsams, Susie knew this tradition was worth protecting.
Today, Susie Lo Cheongsam carries forward that promise—honoring craftsmanship, heritage, and the quiet beauty of the cheongsam, created for the present day.
